The problem

TipTip’s restaurant flow joined QR/NFC entry points with payment initiation, transaction history, and status views.

Constraints

  • Payment and venue interactions needed clear failure handling.
  • QR and NFC entry points had to converge on understandable cross-platform flows.

My decisions

  • Architect Flutter flows around BLoC, Drift, payments, QR scanning, NFC, and explicit API contracts.
  • Keep the interaction focused on the physical restaurant moment rather than exposing implementation complexity.

Trade-offs

  • The mobile client integrated existing payment APIs and tPay, while backend settlement and compliance remained outside my scope.

Shipped work

  • The Flutter app was delivered to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • The client integrated QR/NFC tipping and payment flows with payment APIs and tPay.
