I built a three-person Android team, shipped the production app to Google Play, and later led two platform teams.

The problem
The Android initiative had stalled, while the construction platform needed a production mobile app and a team able to deliver it.
Constraints
- The Android team had to be built from scratch.
- Native Android and iOS delivery later had to be coordinated across two platform teams.
- Mobile release automation had to run through a repeatable cloud pipeline.
My decisions
- Build a three-person Android team from scratch and lead the mobile delivery.
- Establish Bitrise CI/CD and mobile release automation using cloud runners.
- Later lead two platform teams comprising six iOS and three Android engineers.
Trade-offs
- The delivery scope included the initial three-person Android team and later leadership of two platform teams comprising six iOS and three Android engineers.
Shipped work
- The production Android application shipped to Google Play within six months.
- Bitrise CI/CD and mobile release automation ran on cloud runners.
Result
I shipped the production Android application to Google Play within six months, then led two platform teams comprising six iOS and three Android engineers.
The Android initiative had stalled, so I built the initial three-person Android team and shipped the production application to Google Play within six months. I also established the Bitrise pipeline and release automation used by the mobile work.
The delivery included the initial three-person Android team, the Google Play release within six months, and later leadership of two platform teams: six iOS engineers and three Android engineers.
